This gallery contains unique Black and White Flowers art prints. Black and white flowers photography provides one the most sensual and elegant representation of flowers. It makes elegant, zen like wall decor for any room of the house or office environment. The first image below demonstrates how black and white flower prints fit into modern decor setting. The simplicity of the black and white photography allows the eye to rest and focus on the refined textures and shapes of these beautiful specimens. In this body of work you will find a particular focus on the contrast between shadow and light. Often it is the relationship between these two elements that create the drama in the image.
A number of these black and white flowers photos were taken through a macro lens creating a very intimate feeling. The close up view reveals the delicate texturing in the flower petals and ornate center decorations that only nature can create. For example print #168 “Wildflower Bouquet” is photograph of a very small wildflower. However close up it reveals an amazing variety of texturing. The center of the flowers glowing like a tiny light bulb.
In developing my work I pay particular attention to backgrounds. In fact it sometimes takes as much time to create a tasteful background as the black and white flowers themselves. The best ideas on what kind of background would best enhance the beauty of the flower come from closely observing the texturing and coloration of the flower itself. Nature is an amazing creator, if we pay attention it provides us with many clues. For instance the background in both print No.168 and No.164 was developed by combining the natural setting it these flowers were taken in and samples of textures from the flowers themselves.
